3 Tips For Preventing Anxiety Before Part Time Day Care

Sometimes, it helps to be prepared. With that in mind, here are a few helpful tips that have worked for other parents and kids:
- Encourage an early night. Exhaustion hits hard for kids, amplifying anxiety and stress and reducing their ability to cope with new situations. As much as possible, try to get your little one tucked into bed at an early hour so they can rest up and prepare for the day ahead! If they haven’t gotten enough sleep the night before, just let our educators know—they can keep that in mind when supporting your little one that day.
- Stay as positive as you can. Children are incredibly attuned to the feelings of those around them—and if they notice any worry, anxiety, or nervousness on your part, they might get panicked, too. It can be challenging, but try to maintain a positive, bright demeanor when getting them ready for day care! When you get to our school, you’ll find our educators ready to greet your child with a warm smile and open arms.
- Enlist help from the teachers. Transitions can be rough for many kids, and it helps to have a little backup. Our teachers are always ready to support you however they can. We’ll always try to incorporate rhythms and routines from home so kids feel comfortable and at ease.
