I have been with Celebree Schools since November 2007 and hold an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education. I am qualified to serve as a Director and teach children of all ages. Additionally, I hold certifications in First Aid & CPR, Medication Administration, and Emergency Preparedness.
I chose to work with children because I love witnessing their growth and learning journeys. A little-known fact about me is that I have three children of my own, and all of them attended Celebree School throughout their preschool years.
I am committed to ensuring an exceptional experience for both parents and children at my school every day.
I have been in the field for 24 years, 25 in may 2026. I made a career change from government research in to the ECE field after wanting more. My sister was in the ECE field and suggested I try it. I worked for Celebree School of Frederick in 2002 where they helped me to obtain all my certificates to work with preschool and school aged children. I wanted to explore other ECE opportunities and left after a few years to do this.
In 2018. I saw how Celebree School’s CEO, Richie Huffman, and others were advocating for ECE with the state and federal government. So, I came back. Being removed from the company I came back as a teacher and quickly completed joined leadership academy and grew within my building to a mentor SSM and eventually an Assistant Director role. During my time in this role, I earned the “Leader of the Quarter Award for my first quarter. I also won the annual “Rising Star” award in January of 2025.
Most recently was my School Director promotion in July 2025. I am inspired everyday by all my children and families in the building. When a child learns a new task, skill or displays their autonomy it lights up my world!! My current goal in my role is to immerse myself my team and programs within the Mt. Airy community and build everlasting connections.
Let’s get personal…I am a bonus mom to two young adult sons. My sister is a director in the field as well and my mom, sister-in-law, and nieces are all early childhood professionals. When I am not at the school you can likely find me attending trainings, ECE conferences and advocating for our field. I am a certified nature based preschool teacher and qualified to work with infants through school age. I also have my Associate’s in Early Childhood Education. Fun fact: I was married on Halloween and it was a BEETLEJUICE themed wedding.
