Mike Sapperstein, Co-owner of Celebree School of Wayne, is so happy to serve the families of Wayne and provide a place to “Protect, Educate and Nurture” every child that walks through the doors. After receiving his Bachelor of Arts in Public Financial Management from Indiana University Bloomington in 2008, Mike went on to complete his Masters in Accounting from the University of Baltimore in 2012.
While he spent the past 12+ years working as a CPA, Mike unlocked his true passion for education through his volunteer experiences tutoring undergraduate students and coaching youth hockey. It was these experiences that ultimately inspired him to pursue a career in early childhood education.
In addition to his professional pursuits, Mike is a dedicated member of the Jewish Community Services Board, where he serves as Assistant Treasurer, and the Boys’ Latin School of Maryland Alumni Board, where he is the Treasurer. He is passionate about giving back to his community and is dedicated to making a lasting impact on the lives of the children and families he serves.
Louis (Lou) Sapperstein is delighted to bring his decades of entrepreneurial expertise to Celebree School of Wayne as a co-owner. With 45 years of experience as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and business consultant, Lou founded his regional consulting and CPA firm Rosen, Sapperstein and Friedlander, LLC in 1979 and holds an undergraduate degree from the Merrick School of Business at the University of Baltimore. He is also an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants.
Lou is a firm believer in the potential of individuals and is passionate about coaching, developing, and supporting the growth of children and adults alike. He truly represents our motto “We Grow People Big and Small”. Lou’s unwavering commitment to providing the best quality of educational experiences to the children of Fishtown is matched only by the determination to invest in his employees, empowering them to reach their greatest potential. Lou’s goal is to cultivate a positive, nurturing environment within the school and community. In his personal life, Lou has been married to his wife Jill since 1977. He enjoys spending time with his three grown children (including Mike) and six grandchildren, who bring him boundless joy.
Kelly Earnshaw brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the Celebree School of Wayne, with decades of experience in Early Childhood Education. Her journey in the field began as a Preschool Teacher in a small, family-owned childcare center, where she quickly established herself as a dedicated and innovative educator. Over time, her commitment to fostering high-quality early learning environments led her to advance into a Center Director role, where she gained extensive experience in curriculum development, staff mentorship, and operational leadership. Kelly will always tell you that preschool children are “her people”.
Throughout her career, Kelly has remained deeply passionate about early childhood development. She believes in creating engaging, play-based learning experiences that support children’s cognitive, social, and emotional growth. She has worked with children across various developmental stages, implementing age-appropriate curricula that encourage exploration, creativity, and a love for learning. Kelly has also been instrumental in training and mentoring early childhood educators, helping them refine their teaching strategies and classroom management techniques.
After staying home to raise her own three children, Kelly returned to the workforce, this time working with youth in the non-profit sector. It was during this time that Kelly combined her love of young children and wellness into the development and facilitation of a movement and nutrition program for toddlers and preschool children, serving several early education centers in the area. It was during her time as a Department Director that Kelly discovered her love of coaching and guiding professionals working with youth and the operations side of running a successful program.
As a Certified Children’s Yoga Instructor and Trauma Competent Professional, Kelly understands and values the importance of providing a safe, nurturing environment for the young children in her care, focusing on the whole child; physically, emotionally, and mentally. She values Celebree’s commitment to “Growing People BIG and small” and strives to create a school where teachers, families and children feel at ease when they walk through the front door each day.
When she is not at Celebree, Kelly enjoys spending time with her three children, reading non-fiction books and baking. She’s confident that she bakes the best chocolate chip cookies around. Kelly is drawn to water and will take any opportunity to head to the beach or kayak on the lake.
Kelly is so proud to be a part of the Celebree team and cannot wait to watch the Celebree School of Wayne family grow and flourish.
