At Celebree School of Stafford<\/a>, we charge weekly tuition, and we\u2019re here to help explain how<\/span> DSS Child Care Subsidy payments<\/span><\/a> work. <\/span><\/p>\n

Here\u2019s a simple breakdown using an example:<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. The Virginia Department of Social Services covers a set amount per day based on your child\u2019s age.<\/span>
    <\/span> For example, DSS pays infants $83 per day, and they always pay for 5 days per week, which equals $415 per week.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Some families have a required monthly co-payment based on their income.<\/span>
    <\/span>For example,\u00a0 if your co-pay is $125 per month, we divide that by 4.33 (the average number of weeks in a month) to get a weekly co-pay of $28.86. This is the amount the family is required to contribute towards child care costs to the provider.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. If the school\u2019s tuition is higher than what DSS pays, you are responsible for the difference.<\/span>
    <\/span> For example, our weekly infant tuition is $425, and DSS subsidizes $415 a week, so the difference is $10.<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Your final weekly payment<\/span>
    <\/span> $10 tuition difference + $28.86 weekly co-pay = $38.86 per week.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
