With Halloween quickly approaching and the day winding down, surplus candy offers a chance to do something sweet for someone else, whether by gifting or treating. For young children, sharing can start with something as simple as choosing the candy given away because these little moments can help them practice generosity while recognizing the needs of others and understanding that even small gestures can make a difference.
Donate Halloween Candy to Support Military Service Members
At Celebree School of Stafford, from Wednesday, November 4th, through Friday, November 6th, staff will accept unopened, individually wrapped Halloween candy for its Share the Sweetness initiative. These donations support Troopathon Halloween Candy Buyback, an organization that sends care packages to military service members deployed overseas. They can include familiar treats or personal notes that offer a reminder of the support waiting back home.
How to Participate in Stafford’s Halloween Candy Drive
It’s more than deciding what to do with leftover candy for children; when selecting treats, parents could talk about the people who may appreciate a thoughtful surprise or thank-you note and why. Military service is a part of many families’ lives, including those in our community. Taking a moment to acknowledge those serving far from home is one way children can begin understanding appreciation and community connection, making a small donation a great deal when it comes to the thought behind it.
Families are welcome to bring leftover unopened Halloween candy or purchase individually wrapped candy to donate at Celebree School of Stafford from November 4th to November 6th. Every contribution helps share a little sweetness beyond our local community.
