With diverse backgrounds, Cathie and Alex bring a wealth of experience and a shared commitment to early childhood education. With over 15 years of hands-on teaching experience, Cathie has dedicated her career to inspiring young minds through art, Spanish, and French. She has worked with children ages 2 to 15, including those from underprivileged communities, using art-based programs to enhance self-confidence, develop creativity and self-expression, and learn new languages. In Atlanta, she has taught at the Atlanta International School and the Atlanta Speech School.
Alex, on the other hand, comes from a background in management consulting and entrepreneurship. He spent 15 years in strategy leadership roles at The Coca-Cola Company, working across multiple regions, including Atlanta. The couple credits much of their personal and professional success to the power of education,especially in its formative stages. This belief fuels their excitement about opening Celebree School of Smyrna, where their mission is to “Protect, Nurture, and Educate” every child who walks through the door.
In 2019, the family moved to Atlanta as part of an international assignment with The Coca-Cola Company. They now reside in the area with their two daughters, Emilia (20) and Sofia (16), along with their beloved dogs. Both Cathie and Alex grew up in Mexico City. Cathie earned her bachelor’s degree in graphic design from UNUM University, while Alex holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in electrical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and an MBA from Collège des Ingénieurs in Paris.
At Celebree School of Smyrna, Alex will oversee all aspects of school operations, while Cathie will lead art and creativity programs and teach Spanish and French. We can’t wait to welcome you to Celebree School of Smyrna! We look forward to sharing this exciting journey with you!
Anne Stuart is the School Director of Celebree School of Smyrna. Anne has more than 20 years of experience in Early Childhood Educational Leadership. Her career began as a Pre-K teacher at a local private school. As a classroom teacher for 7 years, she enjoyed teaching in various age groups from 2-year-olds through Kindergarten. Anne’s love for children and families led her to pursue a position in leadership, where she has continued connecting with families, children, and teaching teams in 6 schools across 3 states.
A native of Marietta, Georgia, she attended Georgia Perimeter College, studying nursing as well as Early Childhood Education. Anne and her husband, Jeff, recently celebrated 39 years of marriage. Her family includes 2 sons: Patrick, who lives in Powder Springs, GA, and Hayden, who lives in Long Beach, California, with his wife, Anastasia.
Outside of work, Anne enjoys playing with her Pomeranian, Winston; volunteering as a member of the Junior League of Cobb/Marietta; cheering for the Bulldogs; playing trivia; gardening; and going to estate sales to buy items for her antique booth, found at The Market in Woodstock, GA.
Anne is excited to meet the children and families in the Smyrna community who are looking for a quality school that offers excellent care in a nurturing environment.
Rebecca Phelan is the Assistant Director of Celebree School of Smyrna. Rebecca has been working in the education field for 30 years. She began her career in Florida, working as a Kindergarten teacher in an inclusion classroom and leading the School Advisory Council. Her passion for creating communities where children and parents can thrive continued as she moved to Georgia, working as a Pre-K teacher, Curriculum Specialist and Director. She is excited to bring her experience and enthusiasm to the teachers, parents and students here.
Growing up in Florida, she attended Stetson University, studying Elementary Education. She has four adult children, Sean, Brooke, Jason and Nate, who keep her busy and happy. When she is not at work, Rebecca loves to swim, read and go on hikes with her family and friends.
Rebecca is delighted to be a part of Celebree, where she can touch the lives of children, parents and teachers, growing people big and small.
