My Journey Into Childcare
As a working mom, juggling young children and a career, access to quality and affordable childcare is paramount to the well-being and success of my family. I worked as an economist for the World Bank for 10 years before deciding to branch into childcare and follow my passion for developing young minds into the strongest versions of themselves. My first degree is in education, and my career has always been centered around elementary, high school, and college-level education. I have experience across so many age groups, but nothing gives me more satisfaction than seeing infants flourish and grow to independent toddlers and curious preschoolers, eager to embrace what’s going on around them.
Why Celebree Was the Right Choice
When it came to selecting a franchise brand to start our endeavor into preschool, Celebree, as a brand for us, was a no-brainer. We aim to protect, educate, and nurture our children. These core values spoke to us and showed us the way to becoming preschool owners ourselves. The pandemic heavily impacted my personal experience breastfeeding my son. At the preschool he was at, it was impossible to be able to breastfeed him with the regulations and stigma that were happening at the time. So, when I started Celebree School of Reston, it was important that we have a family room where moms (and dads) can feel comfortable spending time with their children.
Learning Through Play
Education is central to our motto, and we implement the Creative Curriculum that focuses on meeting our children where they are in terms of their milestones. I have seen firsthand how the curriculum and the positive learning environment that relies on the premise that children learn best through play has had on my son, Andrew. When he first started at Celebree, he struggled to express himself. After some time here, he is now able to express himself in a way that is productive and beneficial for him and his peers. I am so confident in our curriculum because I see children grow here and accomplish new milestones daily.
Building Community Together
We have created a school where the community feels right at home. We have an open-door policy where our parents (and grandparents) can walk in anytime and spend as much time as they would like with our children, because this enhances the experience and development of our children. I am very proud of the school and community we have built here and the amazing experiences we are providing to the families we serve.
I welcome you to come and visit us and experience our school community yourself!
