Meet Michael & Katie Young

Your School Owner/Operators

Michael and Katie Young are the owners of the Celebree school of Nottingham. Michael and Katie both grew up in Harford County and had been friends since Elementary school. In 2003, Katie graduated from Villa Julie College with her degree in Early Childhood Education. While at Villa Julie, you could find Katie on the attack end of the lacrosse field. After graduating, Katie knew she wanted to give back to her community and began coaching basketball and lacrosse at Joppatowne High School. She concluded her coaching career by winning a State Basketball Championship.

Although their roads may have deviated from one another, Katie and Michael reconnected again while playing co-ed flag football. In 2014 Michael and Katie were married and started growing their family. They now have 4 children who keep their hands and hearts full. (Benjamin, John, Reed, and Josephine)

Katie will be actively involved in all operations of Celebree School of Nottingham and is committed to using her skills from her professional background to serve the community of Nottingham and make the Celebree School of Nottingham a place to “protect, educate and nurture.”. Katie has been in the childcare industry for over 11 years and has been employed with Celebree School, as a School Director for the past 9 years.

Michael will continue his career with Johnson Controls, as a Virginia field foreman. Although you may not see him daily, he will be very involved behind the scenes helping to keep our school in top shape!

Michael and Katie both believe in building a school atmosphere that is not only fun, but also feels like family and is eager to create this environment in the Nottingham community.

In their spare time, you can find them on the sideline of a soccer, football, or baseball field. Katie is hopeful that one day she can add the lacrosse field to that list. Their favorite hobby, however, is slowing life down and enjoying the simple things with family and friends.
