Preschool is an exciting time in your child’s life, one where they’re growing fast. Make sure it’s in the right environment – one that will prepare them for kindergarten success. At Celebree School® of Melford, we focus on kindergarten readiness in our preschool program, open to children from the ages of two through five in Bowie, Woodmore, and surrounding areas in MD.

Our Preschool Programs in Bowie Promote Kindergarten Readiness

At Celebree School of Melford, we want to give your child the confidence they need to succeed and make the leap into kindergarten. It’s why we place a big emphasis on building self-esteem and self-help skills, all in a structured environment that will get them ready for kindergarten.

We also combine playtime with learning, always with an eye toward helping each child to grow in a holistic way. This means socially, emotionally, physically, and academically. As a result, children emerge from our Bowie-area preschool program as well-rounded big kids, ready for kindergarten.

Throughout our days, we even personalize our instruction around each child. Our teachers get to know them and allow them to learn and grow at their own pace, so they’re happy and comfortable in our hands.

Along the way, we provide families with Quarterly Progress Reports and, at the age of three, we’ll begin to keep formal work samplings. This enables us to document and evaluate the growth of each child to ensure they are ready for kindergarten.

About Celebree School of Melford’s Preschool Curriculum

Our preschool program is warm, nurturing, and encouraging, so children from in and around the Bowie area feel right at home here. In the process, they will be learning through a curriculum that aligns with the Maryland Early Learning Standards. It also integrates the Seven Domains of Learning and helps children to develop:

  • Fine and gross motor skills, healthy habits, and positive social skills, including the ability to share and collaborate with their peers.
  • Early literacy, phonetic awareness, writing, and solid communication skills with both peers and adults.
  • Early math skills, like recognizing numbers and counting, as well as scientific thinking, such as asking questions and drawing conclusions.
  • The ability to express their ideas and emotions creatively through art, music, dance, and in other artistic ways.

We even integrate STEAM, or Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics, into our instruction. This introduces children to the concepts they will be learning in kindergarten and beyond, while also creating a solid foundation on which to grow in a diverse range of areas.
