My passion for working with children began at the age of 13 when I started volunteering with youth programs in my community. As I grew older, I continued building experience through a variety of childcare and educational roles, including running summer camp programs for Montgomery County Public Schools, interning in public school classrooms, and spending several years as a nanny.
I have dedicated the last 12 years to growing my career with Celebree School, beginning as a Pre-K teacher and progressing through leadership roles including Assistant Director, School Director, and now District Director. Throughout my journey, I have remained committed to supporting children, families, and educators while fostering high-quality early childhood education programs.
I earned my Associate’s Degree from Frederick Community College in Early Childhood Education and my Bachelor’s Degree from Frostburg State University. Over the years, I have been honored to lead award-winning schools, support the professional growth of countless educators, and help create environments where children can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
What Inspires My Passion for Early Childhood Education
What inspires me most about early childhood education is the incredible opportunity we have to shape a child’s future during their most formative years. The relationships built between children, families, and educators create a foundation that extends far beyond the classroom. Watching children gain confidence, discover their strengths, and develop a lifelong love of learning is one of the most rewarding aspects of this work.
Why I Chose Celebree School
I chose Celebree because of its unwavering commitment to its mission, vision, and values. From my very first day, I felt connected to the organization’s focus on nurturing not only children but also families and team members. Celebree School’s culture of growth, support, and excellence has allowed me to build a meaningful career while making a positive impact in the communities we serve.
Goals and Focus in My Current Role
As District Director, my focus is on developing strong leaders, building high-performing teams, and ensuring every school provides exceptional experiences for children and families. I am passionate about coaching and mentoring school leaders, creating consistency across our schools, and helping each location reach its fullest potential. Ultimately, my goal is to support environments where children, families, and educators can all succeed.
Fun Facts
When I’m not working, I enjoy reading fantasy novels, baking, crafting, and spending time with my husband and our three children. Creativity has always been an important part of my life, and I love making handmade items in my spare time. As a proud IVF mom to twins, I have a deep appreciation for the many unique journeys families take. One of my favorite parts of my career is building meaningful relationships with children, families, and team members, many of whom have become lifelong friends.
Hi, I’m Laura, School Director at Celebree School of Lutherville, and I’m proud to have been with Celebree School since 2013. I have devoted my life to early childhood education, having been in the field for over almost 40 years now. My passion for early education runs deep; it is such a privilege to be able to make a difference in young lives and teach them core skills and values that they will carry with them for the rest of their lives. There is no better feeling in the world than seeing a child master a task they have been working so hard on.
It’s so important that each child trusts that they are in a safe, open, welcoming space in order for them to learn and succeed. I work hard to make sure Celebree School is one of those places – a space for children to learn, explore, and discover while developing a lifelong love of learning. I believe that, when given the opportunity, children can achieve anything they set their minds to, and our job as educators is to provide them with the tools, skills, and values they need for them to reach their fullest potential.
I promise to provide exceptional family and child experience each and every day. I truly believe in Celebree’s mission statement, “We Grow People Big and Small,” and I’m proud to work for a company that not only believes in growing the children, but also our incredible staff. I am excited to help grow our team here at Celebree School of Lutherville, and I can’t wait for what the future has in store! Welcome to our school!
I have been working in formal childcare centers since 2007, when I was just 16 years old, and my passion for early childhood education has only continued to grow.
I joined Celebree in 2020 as a Pre-K teacher, later becoming a School Support Manager, Assistant Director, and then Director of Celebree School of Ellicott City. After two years as a director, I chose to step back into the classroom at Lutherville to reconnect with my “why,” and that experience reignited my passion for teaching, mentoring, and supporting children and educators.
What inspires me most is seeing the world through a child’s eyes and being part of those exciting moments when they learn something new or gain confidence in themselves. I love Celebree’s Grow Big mission because it truly provides opportunities for everyone to learn, develop, and reach their goals.
My focus in Lutherville is to continue upholding our values while strengthening our reputation as a leader in early childhood education and teacher development within our community.
Outside of work, I am a proud mom of four amazing children: Logan, Joseph, Gabriella, and Anthony. On weekends, I enjoy attending craft shows with my best friends, where I create handmade bows and we share lots of laughs as the “Five Giggling Gals.”
