Meet Shu Juan Yu “Merry” Mattson, a self-employed entrepreneur who thrives in the garment industry through imports and exports with China. Alongside her business pursuits, Merry has been devoted to teaching English to young students in China for many years. Her strengths encompass a remarkable blend of business management and educational expertise.

Merry’s journey began in 2001 when she initiated her English training summer camp while still a university freshman. With her innovative teaching techniques and passion for education, the camp’s popularity surged rapidly, attracting several hundred students within just three years, starting from a modest enrollment of 6-7 students.

In 2010, Merry relocated to the United States and established her own import and export business, leveraging her knowledge of the Chinese market and contacts to achieve impressive sales revenue of 2 million dollars annually.

David Robert Mattson holds the position of Director of Development for Technology Justice Solutions at the County Commissioners Association of Pennsylvania, a government non-profit organization located in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

Originally from Nebraska, David enlisted in the United States Air Force after completing high school, serving for 6 years in the military. Following his enlistment, he joined Raytheon Technologies Inc as an Electronics Technician Sr. However, his adventurous spirit led him to China, where he lived for 2.5 years and encountered his now-wife Merry. During his time in China, he discovered his passion for education and working with children while teaching English at a local kindergarten.

While working at a help desk in Transamerica, he pursued his Software Engineering degree. In this capacity, he oversees the day-to-day development of various Criminal Justice Projects, including the Unified Case Management System, Pennsylvania Academic, Career and Technical Training, and the Bureau of Juvenile Justice Services system.

Currently residing in Hummelstown, PA, Merry and her husband David are raising two delightful daughters, aged 7 and 11. During their personal time, the family indulges in quality moments together, enjoying Marvel movies and embarking on exciting vacations.
