At Celebree School® of Forest Hill Rock Spring, our preschool programs are carefully designed to prepare your child for kindergarten. We take a balanced approach that provides a nurturing and safe, yet fun environment in which they’ll feel confident to learn and develop at their own pace. In our preschool programs, available to two, three, four and five-year-olds across Forest Hill Rock Spring, MD, they’ll be encouraged to explore, challenged to grow, and empowered to comfortably walk into that first exciting day of kindergarten.

Through a combination of enriching experiences and hands-on opportunities, from group activities to self-guided play, your child will be learning critical kindergarten readiness skills while in preschool programs at our School in Forest Hill. These include number concepts, literacy, cooperation, and independence. Beyond building and strengthening these key areas, our caring teachers also aim to foster a sense of community and respect. This not only helps your child gain the skills they need, but the attitudes and habits for success in kindergarten.

Our Forest Hill Rock Spring Preschool Programs Promote Kindergarten Readiness

Taking the leap from preschool to kindergarten is a big one. Our goal is to make it as seamless as possible. Our team of educators rely on a steady approach to transitioning your child into an independent learner, slowly adding more structure to their day and encouraging them to take risks and challenge themselves. To ensure we’re meeting their learning needs in an appropriate way, we’ll also identify where they are developmentally and then assess their growth using the Work Sampling System and individual portfolios.

Some areas your child will develop in include:

  • Self-confidence and independence
  • Social awareness and cooperation
  • Gross and fine motor skills
  • Mathematical reasoning and scientific thinking
  • Early reading and literacy
  • Creativity through storytelling, arts and crafts, play time and more

As they turn three, and through the rest of our Pre-K program, our teachers will also begin formally collecting and evaluating samples of your child’s development as they relate to the Seven Domains of Learning. This helps ensure they’re making the progress they need as they get ready for kindergarten.
