Every year, we gather all of our franchise owners of the Celebree School network together to learn, connect, and grow at our Grow Big Conference. Celebree School of Estero is honored to share that our owner, Karen Callahan, was nominated for this year’s Community Difference Maker Award. This award is given to owners whose dedication reaches beyond their school doors, reflecting a deep commitment to supporting their local community. Hear from Karen about what this award means to them.
Why is community involvement important to you as a franchise owner?
Community involvement is important to me because I want our school to be more than just a place for early education—I want it to be a place where families feel supported and connected. When we build strong relationships within the community, it creates a better environment for children to grow and thrive. It also helps us stay in tune with the needs of the families we serve.
Can you share a meaningful partnership or initiative that made an impact on families in your area?
Our partnership with Ronald McDonald House Charities has been especially meaningful. It has allowed us to support families going through difficult times while also teaching our students the importance of kindness and giving back. Seeing our families come together to support others has made a lasting impact on our entire school community.
How do you create a sense of belonging for both your enrolled families and the broader community?
We create a sense of belonging by building intentional connections—through events like Parent Night Out, community gatherings, and partnerships with local HOAs, pediatricians, and businesses. We also focus on creating a warm, welcoming environment where every family feels known and supported. Whether families are enrolled or just getting to know us, we want them to feel like they are part of something special.
