Celebree School of Bear is proud to partner with the Bear Library to bring high quality education to our children. Recently, we invited a guest librarian to our school for an engaging read-aloud. Reading to children has so many benefits for their early development from visual imagery, story comprehension, and word meaning.
At Celebree School, we encourage our families to bring the love of learning at home. A strong connection with our local public library builds a love of learning in our children from a young age.
Our special visit from local librarian, Elizabeth, was full of fun learning opportunities for our children. Students heard Elizabeth read the book Click, Clack, Moo by Doreen Cronin and illustrated by Betsy Lewin. This book explores what happens when farm animals go on strike against the farmer, in a hilarious and rhythmic way!
Not only did we have a story time, but we continued the learning through musical exploration. Children explored bucket drums and rhythm sticks to make sounds that they heard within the story. A 2016 study from the University of Southern California’s Brain and Creativity Institute found that musical experience can accelerate the language acquisition and reading skills of brain development.
At Celebree School of Bear, we were thrilled to welcome local librarian Elizabeth from the Bear Library for an engaging storytime with Click, Clack, Moo.
